Blind Guardian - Nightfall In Middle Earth
Classic flawless concept power metal it's best.
It's ok but I've never fully been able to get into BG. Must be something wrong with me.

Sonata Arctica - Ecliptica
Was so fresh, young and innocent when I first heard, sure they might have done better, but his is great.

Nightwish - Oceanborn
Still my fave, this will never be bettered, Tarja at her best.

Cain's Offering - Gather The Faithful
Kotoand and Jani make magic together, Timo singing his best in years.
I nearly actually put Stormcrow in mine. But both are great.

Masterplan - Aeronautics
Classic Jorn, brilliant songs!

Helloween - Keeper 1&2
These two are genre defining and I couldn't split them.
Of course but old Helloween, whilst genre defining, has never been a fave of mine.

Luca Turilli - Prophets Of The Last Eclipse
Had to have one of Luca's solo efforts and this is my fave.
Nearly put this. If top 30 listed then it would have made it.

Gamma Ray - Somewhere Out In Space
Love the sound of this, it's fast and full of great songs.
I always preferred Powerplant.

Gloryhammer - Tales From The Kingdom Of Fife
Despite the silliness I really like the sound and has superb songs
I think I prefer their latest from last year to be honest but all are good.

Kiuas - Lustdriven
My fave obscure band from Finland, very quirky and unusual.
Definitely quirky and good.

Sabaton - Carolus Rex
Hard to pick only one, but this and Art Of War are pretty close.
Definitely close between the two.

Labyrinth - Return To Heaven Denied
Classic from the Italians and the golden vox of Rob Tyrant
again probably in a top 30.

Angra - Holy Land
Classic Angra, way ahead of it's time.
Very good but I fell out of love with it.

Time Machine - Act II Galileo
Obscure Italians with a classic concept album.
Don't know this one.

Stratovarius - Infinite
Love the sound, production and massive drums on this.
I love Destiny myself. But I love the post Tolkki Strat even more. The Eternal or Nemesis albums.

Rhapsody - Dawn Of Victory
Had to pick only one, the first 4 are pretty close for me, but this one always sounded a little better.
Very good.

Dragonforce - Valley Of The Damned
Another band that started an almost new sub genre of power metal, this one still sounds so fresh.
I think they did better after.

Avantasia - The Metal Opera
Something new, fresh and exciting, still remmeber when and where I was when I played it on my discman!
The start for Avantasia.

Eldritch - Headquake
Another Italian band who did a trio of power/prog albums that were pretty good.
I far prefer El Nino myself.
