I don't know if it's just because the weather here has yet to reach summer, but the first half of this year has gone by awfully fast.
Well June has been an absolute washout here. But I don't really equate that with how fast the year has gone. If anything I feel when it's warmer time goes quicker and you miss days too much. It's the cold and dank weather that drags for me. Either way the year has literally flown by. We're getting older and everything's heading south and yet people are making more music than ever it seems. People seem to find solace in music when the world has turned to absolute shit around them lol.
That means it's time for us to recap these six months. So, here's my five best and worst so far, in alphabetical order:
I guess this means the last 2 weeks of June ain't gonna help you out much lol but then nothing much can help you bro. You're a lost cause! (joke dude! even tho it's half true anyway!)

The Best:

Any Given Day - Overpower (Sorry, but this is better Tremonti than Tremonti. If only the growls were gone.)
See that board over there? You've gone right over it.... heeh! Having said that I do like it but the growls ARE there whether you like it or not but the band is admittedly very powerful when it comes to choruses but Tremonti is the king man. These guys dream to be as good as him but this is my opinion of course and you're entitled to yours.
Forever Still - Breathe In Colours (I find their music dark, beautiful, and awesome.)
Nah not good at all for me. Not my thing although it could be if it was good but it just ain't.
Soen - Lotus (They've managed to top "Lykaia", which I didn't think they could.)
I came round to it but I'm not masturbating over it like you are. It is very classy though no doubt, but it's not in my top 30 of the first half of the year.
Vanishing Signs - Vanishing Signs (Mostly for the vocals, but I've listened to it a lot.)
I enjoyed but I haven't gone back. Been listening to newer albums. Won't be in higher reaches either but great for an unknown band.
Yours Truly - Afterglow (They need to put out an album! Ridiculously fun.)
I enjoy it but just an ep. Try to list albums. Probably a guily pleasure type music since my metal credibility goes right out the window not that you care or have or want any lol!

Just missing out are Avantasia and Within Temptation.
Avantasia make my top 10 at the half way stage but WT miss out even though I do like it a lot.

The Worst:

Arch/Matheos - Winter Ethereal (I've listened to all the Arch I ever need to.)
I wouldn't list as the worst coz it has a lot of value. I just call it something I can't listen due to Arch.
Devin Townsend - Empath (A bloated, unfocused mess.)
I didn't listen coz not interested in Devy.
Manowar - Final Battle I (A complete joke that insults the fans.)
It's basically 3 tracks. But the songs are sort of ok but the execution is extremely poor for a band with such a cult following. They talk the big talk but walk like mice not giants.
The Three Tremors - S/T (The latest example of Ripper's terrible career choices.)
Yeah not good at all in the end but not that awful that I couldn't get through a couple of listens.
Neal Morse - Jesus Christ: The Exorcist (Two hours of Jesus obsessed dad-rock? Torture.)
Never tried a note but the normal album from Neal was also bad so didn't even try this one coz I know I'll be sleeping after 5 minutes.

My list for June and half year list will come in 2 weeks. June has been an amazing month so far. Including my AOTY contender..
