This actually sounds quite good. But I wonder, since this is AI, should I not listen to it and enjoy it like any other album?
That's an interesting question, because it makes us think about how we've looked at other genres of music. A whole lot of self-righteous rock fans have long dismissed pop for being artificial and contrived, often because of the number of people involved in writing and producing the songs. (As if bands that have five or six members contributing are really any different, to be honest.)

"It's all about the music" is the common refrain.

If that's true, then we shouldn't care about a band being AI or not. So long as the songs are good, we should be able to listen and enjoy without a second thought. Of course, that's not the way it is. We don't want to enjoy music made by algorithms and computers, because the human element is what connects us to art, it's what makes music something other than pleasant noise.

It isn't "all about the music", and it never was. It wasn't when Metallica cut their hair, and it isn't with AI. Once we admit that to ourselves, and admit we're as shallow as pop fans, then we can actually assess whether AI music should even exist.

Personally, I'm wary, but I'm inclined to give it at least a chance. It can't be any worse than those last few LA Guns or Quiet Riot albums. Humans make plenty of absolute shit too.
