It's well done, and his singing is impeccable (from a technical standpoint), but it doesn't have any of the blues, or grit, or emotion of the original.

I'm really coming to the realization that so much of what makes music memorable to me is the emotion a singer puts through their performance. Alannah's version makes me feel something, and Erik's doesn't, even if his is more in line with the style I would prefer.
