This year's been great for me. I guess I listen to music with a totally different outlook and mindset than you do.
I would think so. I'm looking for music that makes me feel something, or to use other terms, 'moves me'. I don't need more music that's just a nice background diversion.
W.E.T. - Apex
Well yes it's bloody excellent as expected.
I wasn't without hesitation. "Retransmission" was a solid step down for me, and a record I really don't listen to anymore, save for two songs. I wouldn't have been won over by another record of that ilk.
The Darkness - Dreams On Toast
Didn't have you down as the violent type lol.
I'm not. the album is that bad.
Ghost - Skeleta
Hmmm. I get it Ghost is somewhat wimpy or camp for some but obviously I completely disagree on this view that it's flaccid or boring.
The album needed to be bother wimpier and campier. The problem I have with it is once you get past the first four songs, I don't find any of it fun or memorable at all. The production makes the playing sound lifeless, Ghost isn't very good at being 'heavy', and the hooks dry up. I tune out at the whole "love rockets" bit.
Killswitch Engage - This Consequence
KSE is done for me if this is the best they can come up with.
This era is weird. "Disarm The Descent" was really good. "Incarnate" sucked ass. "Atonement" was back to being pretty darn good. And now another huge 'meh'. I guess I'll have to hold out my hope for that album Howard and Adam D have been making.
